Looking...

Date: Thu, Jan 17, 2008 Professional Internet

I am now on the search for a new assistant since Brooke and I went our seperate ways. Things just weren't working out with her time commitments. So I have started to interview people again. Today I played a bunch of 200/400PLO and some HU PLO. I quit the 200/400PLO games when I was getting action on the HU. Overal it was a bad day with me losing 178K with 145K of it in Omaha and 33K in NLH. I just couldn't get anything going or win the flips. That said the last two days I was hitting the flips so it all works out.

I don't want to say why I did what I did, but its pretty clear from the hand I was wrong.

Another nice win...

Date: Wed, Jan 16, 2008 Professional Internet

I had another nice win today. I ended up 123K playing primarily 200/400 PLO. This month has been very stange for me since I have played just a bit over 3K hands. I would estimate I have averaged 25K-30K hands a month for the prevous two years or so of playing poker. There have been a few reasons I htink for my lack of play which involve the holidays and other things I would prefer spending my time doing. That said even though I have played very few hands I have made them count. I am up ~240K this month in PLO and even in NLH which isn't close to my best month but probably one of my better in terms of bb/100. I have never forced myslef to play poker when I haven't felt like it and that will not change. I do want tog et more hands in the rest of this month but I will never force myself to sit and play. I think my results would be horrible if I did that. Anyways here are some hands from today.

Not much I could do about this one...

This call made me so sick. I was so disapointed in myself. I was very sure I was beat but made up some very very dumb reasons to call the river bet. I guess I have made worse calls before but I was like 80%+ sure he had a baby flush yet I was dumb enough to call anyways.

A big win at 200/400

Date: Wed, Jan 9, 2008 Professional Internet

I put in a nice session yesterday winning 120K. I won 115K in PLO and the other 5K in NLH in under 600 hands with most of the hands played being PLO. I didn't really play any big NLH pots as I didn't get many hands in but in PLO I had a few very large ones against Noatamia.

I also played quite a bit of 50/100 HU yesterday and won almost 3BI. Here are some of the interesting hands.

Having fun...

Date: Fri, Jan 4, 2008 Professional Internet

Just got back from 2.5 weeks in Tahoe and it was a ton of fun. Haven't played poker in ten days and have tons of catching up to do on CR work and I want to get some hands of poker in. Today I had something interesting happen where someone sat at my HU PLO table and wanted to play me HU but only for one BI. I said "you can play as long or as short as you like". I often see people who get really frustrated at hit and runners. And I admit sometimes I get annoyed by them as well. But when I sit back and think about it doesn't bother me one bit. I would guess I have made 25% of my poker winnings off shot takers or hit and runners. At times it can be annoying when they double up and leave you table but it doesn't both me nearly as much as it used to.
