back in florida

Date: Mon, Aug 25, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

loooooong day of travel After bustoing from the WPT event in LA, I decided to make a mad dash for Florida, as there is nothing going on in Vegas right now and my fun in LA was over. It took Katy only 3.5 hours to get us from LA to Vegas, which is always nice. There is no traffic between 1 am and 5 am on the interstate, so that is apparently a good time to drive. We were scheduled to fly out on the 26th but I didnt feel like staying in the Vegas condo for 2 days with not much to do, so I decided to move out flight up on the drive back. I wanted to fly out around 7 am but that one was booked up. They had one at 10:30 am that got us to Pensacola at 9:45pm. I was like cool, that will work. They lady then told me it would be $1190 because all they had was 1st class. I obv said what else do you have and they had one leaving at 12:30, getting to Pensacola at the same 9:45pm and it was only $190. Ship. We booked that, drove home, and slept til 10:00 before getting a sedan to the airport. When we got to the airport, they told us that our seats were going to be no where near each other. This was my first trip on Airtran and it will almost certainly be my last. On the flight from Pensacola to Atlanta, our seats wouldnt even move back and the radio in the seats wouldnt change stations. Anyways, I asked if they had any upgrades and they could move us to 1st class the whole way, sitting together for $300 total. That was obv shipped as well. First class on the first flight was nice. I had about 3 glasses of wine and watched a few episodes of Shield. I was totally unaware a new season was starting soon but was made aware thanks to all the weird tv bill boards in LA. That must be a LA thing cause there are no bill boards with tv or movie ads in Florida and very few in Vegas. Right before we landed in Atlanta, they pilot told us we were going to be in holding, flying in a big circle for an hour because there was the tropical storm over Altanta. We eventually landed and found that our flight to Pensacola wouldnt leave until 10:10. We went to eat at this place called Pascals, which serves southern style food. They have at least two of them in the airport, one of which is a sit down place and the other is more of a fast food place, set up kinda like a fast food chinese eatery. I have never been to the sit down one, so we went there, as it was in our terminal. The menu was pretty small but I just asked for random stuff and they got it for me. It was weird because I know what they have at the fast food one, but none of it was on the menu. Apparently they had it all there, you just had to ask. We got in our 1st class seats on this flight, which were basically slightly larger regular seats. This was the same plane where the coach seats wouldnt lean back earlier. At least the 1st class seats would. Once we got seated, they told us we wouldnt take off until 11:15 or so, so we waited some more. We fiinaalllyy got to Pensacola around midnight. Katys dad was nice enough to pick us up. We left our car at their house, as it is pretty near the airport. We left from there and went to pick up our dog and cat from my parents. Our dog, Rosie, apparently couldnt see us and started barking her head off but once she figured out it was us, she ran over and almost had a heart attack cause she apparently missed us. Our cat came and said hi too. We made the drive home only to find out we had no water at the house, which is suuuper ---ev cause all I wanted to do was take a shower, put in a session, and sleep. I went to get the phone number to the water people online only to find out the internet wasnt working either. I found out it was the router and talked to them for an hour or so fixing the problem. I called the water people and they told me to call back at 8 am. Bah run worse. Also, we left our sheets in the dryer when we left and they were slightly damp, so we obv had to wash them again, but we have no water. We ended up sleeping with a tiny blanket for the two of us on our giant tempurpedic bed. I actually slept pretty well.... Until my alarm went off at 8 am. I called the people and apparently our account was closed out when I moved from here a year ago. The lady put me on hold for about 10 minutes then came back and said we need to fax in our lease before they will turn on our water. I told them I own the condo and she was like "oh..." She out me on hold for 10 more minutes and came back and told me I owe a LOT of money for the water we used for the last 6 weeks. The total came to around $100. I kinda LOLed and little and said let me pay for it and the next 6 months over the phone so they dont gank my water again. They said I couldnt prepay and put me through to some automated payment processor which wouldnt work. The lady then told me that apparently since my account is new, I will have to pay tomorrow sometime. GL to me cause I am awful at remembering small things like that. So, that brings us to now. We need to go to the vet cause Rosie's eats are kinda red and dry. After that, we are going to have to go get food cause we dont have much in this house and I am hungry. We also have no fruit juice and without lotsof orange/mango/pom juice, I am useless. I also plan on working out on the wii fit for the next 2 weeks pretty hardcore, as I can actually feel myself losing weight and getting a little stronger, which is nice. Its weird cause im not out of shape at all. I just want to be more in shape. After all of that, I am going to grind 24 tables of something on Stars for a while ans hopefully make some monies. in a week and a half, we are going to biloxi for their $5000 mtt and then going to Borgata for their WPT events. Ill post again when something happens.

rough run at bike

Date: Sun, Aug 24, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

meh I was super excited going into this tournament, probably because I had not played live poker in 6 weeks. My starting table was pretty tough, with Thor Hansen, Hasan Habib, Vanessa Rousso and Ryan Young, who always causes me trouble. The day started out nice when I lost a big hand to Hasan. We had been playing back at each other quite a bit and we also have a lot of history, as he got deep in the WPT biloxi where I took 7th. Anyways, a guy limped utg in 75/150, Everyone had around 30,000 chips. Hasan made it 400 in 3rd, I called in 5th with 55 and the limper caller. It came Qh5h4c. Hasan bet 750 and I made it 2500, being pretty sure he wasnt going away, cause again, I had already taken a few pots off him. He called and the turn was Jd. He checked and I bet 4500 and he called. The river was 2h. Normally, I would valuetown this but he gave off a tiny tell I remembered from Biloxi and I checked behind and lost to AhTh. That was my only real hand I made the whole tournament. My busto hand was in one of those spots that you look back at after you lose and think what was I doing, but after looking at it more, it really was super standard. I got moved to a new table and was only there for an orbit or two. I raised 65o from the button into 2 randoms in 150/300-50. I would fold this sometimes if the ante was 25, but with such a huge ante, you basically have to raise every button that is folded to you. The sb made it 2400. I had around 18000 behind if I decided to call. This is normally a snap fold but he was just spewing weak tells, like more than I have ever seen before. So, pushing pre would have been a big overpush and I despise making it 8000 and folding, as then if he does decide to just call, there is no way he is folding if he hits the flop. I decided to just call, as if my read was right, thee isnt much of a flop he can hit that makes his hand strong. So, I called and it came KJ5. Not the greatest, but even if he does have something like AK, I have outs. He bet 4500 and I pushed after studying a bit more and making sure he didnt want me to push. He tanked for about 5 minutes before finally calling with KQ. It kinda sucks because that is basically the only weak good hand he could have in that spot that I lose to and even then, I still almost pushed him off it. Anyways, just remember in the future kids, dont bluff randoms! We drove back last night and changed out flught to leave in 2 hours from now. I am happy with the way I played and can hopefully put in a lot of hours online in the next week before going to Biloxi for their $5000.

hot run continues

Date: Fri, Aug 22, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

2nd in $100 rebuy $33000 guaranteed so this morning i decided at the last minute to play the $100 rebuy on tilt. I played really well and ended up finishing 2nd for about $6500 as there were only 169 runners. i dont think i have ever played this well in a tourney before as all of my reads and ranges were pretty much spot on. (I got lucky with 6 left where my KsQs resteal beat A8 all in). this month has been a phenomenal month as i am up about $30k which is quite a bit for me. I am starting to play the 220s on full tilt also as they are ridiculously soft. uni is still sucking.. c'mon haters give me some comments.... im pfg later y'all jiz

In LA

Date: Thu, Aug 21, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

yay After 8 hours of flying and 4 hours of driving, Katy and I finally ended up in LA. I normally stay at either Commerce Casino or Doubletree, right down the street, but Katy did some research and found us a nice suite at Embassy about 5 minutes from the Bike. It is like $130/night and has a nice balcony, 2 TVs, 3 Sinks, a bar, fridge, microwave, and a seperate living room. There is also a free breakfast every morning that includes eggs, potatos, bacon, etc etc. They also have free *censored*tails for 2 hours every afternoon but it doesnt look like we will ever be here during those hours. All in all, it was a sick find. Today we went to Universal Studios, which was pretty nice. My main complaint is that there are only 8 or so attractions. The only 3 good ones, imo, are The Simpsons Ride, The Mummy Ride, and the Jurassic Park ride. We bought the '"skip all the lines" pass, like we do at every theme park, and rode everything multiple times in 6 or so hours. I also got semisunburnt. How -ev. We had to run by target to get a few things we forgot and decided to go by Katy's sister's new house, which just happened to be 3 minutes from the Target we were at. Oddly enough, we will all be in Pensacola in a week, so we will spend more time with them there. After that, we decided to go to a Dodgers game. I havent been to a baseball game in a while and tickets were only $110 for pretty good seats. I guess the only thing I have to compare it to is Lakers tickets and UFC tickets, which are all $350+ for just meh seats. Crappy Dodger food was super overpriced but the places like Panda Express were still reasonable. I must say, I love panda express. Their chow mein and beef and broccili are the nuts. Too bad it is semiunhealthy, so I dont eat there much anymore, as my wii fit yells at me when I gain a pound. Tomorrow we are going to take it easy. The next day, we are going on a sight seeing tour of LA, so that should hopefully be enjoyable. On Sat, the thing I traveled 12 hours for happens, which is obviously the WPT event. This event is always weird because all the mtt pros have had nothing at all to do for 6 weeks and all want to get back to work in a big way. Hopefully I am the one that runs hot this week. Ill probably just post again after the tournament.

How to run insanely good

1. Flop a straight flush. 2. Be up against the ace high flush 3. Profit 4. Repeat I've been playing a lot of plo8 and nlo8 recently due to general holdem burnout. Its a fun game and I've been doing fairly well at .5-1 and 1-2. Today I had an absolutely unbelievable pair of hands in very quick succession. Obviously there are both insane coolers and aren't indicative of any skill whatsoever, but lightning striking the same spot twice is pretty unusual. I AM THE GREATEST

Date: Tue, Aug 19, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

Good day So today i decided to play a few MTT's and SNG's after my few hours at uni. I made about $1000 in SNGS and ended up pwning the MTTS. I won the $18500 $50 rebuy for $5642 and finished second (after losing A10 to A2) in the $100+$9 $30000 guarantee on full tilt for $5350.40. Guess i have been running hot lately.. this will give the haters something to "hate" about. Its pretty amazing how you can just win this much in a day after investing so little. i guess thats the beauty of MTT's. I am up about $20k or so this month so i believe this month will be the best by far. I also played the $300k guaranteed the other night anf finished about 160th. i also finished 163 in the warmup for $900. Ill keep you updated.. JIZ

quick update

Date: Mon, Aug 18, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

plus a new schedule Today was nice. I went on a nice +10 buyin upswing at 1/2 nl, putting me up $4000 for the last week of work. Sadly, I have no clue how many fpps ive earned, but im sure it is around 70,000ish. Over the last week, ive had 2 losing days, one with me being down $176 over 6000 hands and another with me being down $16 over 5000 hands. My winning days have been between +$240 and +$2000, putting me up $3981 over 38000ish hands, which is $126/hr. Not too bad considering it is semimindless grinding. I decided to just stay up all night tonight, as I have to fly out at 3 pm and we have a lot to take care of. Well, thats about it. Ill probably post again when the wpt at the bike is complete. edit: So Katy and I were sitting here and we decided to book flights for the future. getting ready for LA.

Date: Sat, Aug 16, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

yay Its been a while since ive gotten to play any live poker. Im not really a fan of the bike, as there is no hotel there, but going to LA is always fun, besides the traffic. We are flying into Las Vegas to take care of some busisness there before driving to LA. Once there, we are going to Universal Studios and maybe another theme park before the $10000 wpt event at the Bike. I havent really been playing plo much for the last few days. I was up like $5000 total before playing a session of 25/50 with 1 good player and 2 total fish and ended up losing $3500, putting me up $1500, which kinda sucks, but profit is profit. That kinda annoyed me, so I have just been grinding $1/2 nl on stars for the last few days. I am up $2000 over 20 hours and 27000 hands, so thats ok. I also need to start grinding lots in order to make sure I have enough fpps for the PCA and the EPT main event, as paying cash for those is kinda silly when you get a pretty good fpp conversion rate on them, plus the fact that you dont have to book the hotel stuff. Im like 1.3 mil away from having enough for both, but that will come fast 20 tabling. In normal life stuff, we went to a little cook out at a campground with both Katy and my parents today, which was nice. I hate the fact that they like to go camping around an hour away, but I guess thats how they like it. We took our dog and cat and the cat was a huge pain the entire trip, meowing like mad for around a third of it. He obv wont be going on any sort of long car ride any time in the near future.

+200k and up over 30k in my last 1k games on sharkscope

Date: Tue, Aug 12, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

cmon now First off overall graph: Secondly, graph and stats of my last 1,000 games Games played: 1,000 Avg. profit: $33.2 Avg. stake: $156 Avg. roi: 12% Total profit: $33,168 I can feel myself getting better and better every day I play and I'm just now realizing how many mistakes players are making over and over again. I'm starting to feel really good about the 70k in a month prop bet I have coming up but I have to move into the new condo before I can get started which should take a couple more weeks. I also want to apologize for the lack of videos I've put up recently. I'm not going to try to make excuses just have been slackin I guess but I guarantee there will be three up by the end of the month. I just finished a video of me 25 tabling the 16's-60's and I'll be making a mtt video tomorrow. If anyone can think of an idea for my third video post a comment. Thanks, Grayson

got wii fit I sadly have not made a trip to the gym yet. I instead bought wii fit off ebay for $150 and it has been working me to death. It has to be one of the best/most addicting games I have ever played. It is basically a collection of minigames that either improve your muscles or balance. Needless to say, I am super sore right now. I also had my parents and Katys parents over tonight to hang out and play the wii. Obviously they all loved it. They both plan on getting one in the near future. As for poker, I have put in 15000ish hands of plo, ranging from 2/4 - 5/10. Oddly enough, I am break even over like 10000 hands of 2/4 but up $6000 over 800 hands of 5/10. I have just been table selecting 5/10 hardcore and only getting in really soft games. I know this is how all the most profitable high stakes players do it, so it must be decent. I obviously want to get to where I can beat the normal 2/4 games instead of just breaking even. I have some lessons set up with the best plo player I know sometime in the next week, so hopefully that does well. Besides all of that, life is pretty normal. I finally got all the old appliances/light fixtures out of the condo besides one in the shower. Once we get that taken care of, basically everything in the condo will be new (and I wont have to spend any more money.) Holla.

Back from Pebble Beach, took a week off

Date: Sat, Aug 9, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

Puppies are a lot of work Last week I went to Pebble Beach for my dad's father's day present which was awesome. We first played Spyglass because we couldn't change the tee time to Spanish Oaks in time, and I can see why Spanish Oaks is a better course with many more holes along the ocean. Spyglass was very difficult, with a slope of 144, with very tight fairways and greens. I had some problems with my driver because I haven't played much in the last couple years. I ended up shooting a 91 which I was ok with I guess. The next day we played Pebble Beach, which was amazing. Most of the holes on the front 9 were right alongside the ocean, which meant there was a ton of wind, usually altering my club selection by 2 or 3 clubs. I did poorly at the start but ended up shooting a 42 on the front and a 47 on the back for an 89. Overall it was incredible to play a course like that. I got tons of pictures and will always remember that trip. When I got back I picked up my puppy, which was awesome. He seems to be well behaved, and is definitely a laid back dog. He's also very small right now, 7.5 pounds with an adult size of ~50 pounds, so he can't even climb up stairs on his own usually. The only downside is that he has to go to the bathroom every few hours, so I have to get up at 4am, 8am, etc. which I'm not used to. I also haven't really had time to play at all this month since I got him. I played ~70 games yesterday which was the first of the month for me. He's generally getting more comfortable around the house so I'll probably get back into my usual routine of playing this week.

Have a confesion to make

Date: Sat, Aug 9, 2008 Tournament Internet Professional

Listen to this... So the other night I played alllllmost as bad as Octavian_C well not that bad but I played bad and I got headsup against Rockets23 when I was like a 10-1 underdog and I won every hand almost until I won lmao. Don't get me wrong there are very good players at the $225's but some of the regs are a joke. I've had alot of requests too make some MTT videos so I will get on that tomorrow so expect them within the next couple days. OK that's it for now gl everyone.
