It's PokerStars reload bonus time! Just when things had become crystal clear and I was enjoying my time at Full Tilt too! But the games are so fishy at Stars. Table selection is not quite as important when every table is chock-full of awful players.
Full bonus details after the jump.
Here are the full details regarding the PokerStars reload bonus:
40% up to $240 (deposit $600 for max). Use bonus code 2X. Must earn 20 base FPPs for each $1 in bonus money. Valid until July 31st at 11:59 PM...

Poker beat out video games for my free time this weekend. I've found my game again and I'm actually enjoying poker again. I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune once I start losing again but I'll enjoy the games while I can. I've got a few things to talk about today including the conclusion to the PokerTime saga, a little more about the Zune/iPod and poker training videos, and a some poker hands too!
After all that I said about PokerTime last week, things mostly worked out in the end. ...

It's Friday! I am so glad that the weekend is finally here. I've really been run down this week due to lack of sleep. I'm not sure why my kids aren't sleeping anymore. But I do know that sleep deprivation is slowly causing me to lose my mind. Today's post will be another sampling of poker-related news and such. I'm a little too tired to come up with anything more cohesive than the dijointed notes you'll see after the jump.
I just wanted to give a shout out to Watts! After failing to...

I didn't play any poker last night. My youngest is still not sleeping leaving me a little groggy at times. Although I could have played some poker at 10:30 PM last night, my head was a little sore and my eyes were pretty tired. So I played some Lost Odyssey instead.
But I am still very much in "poker" mode. After the jump, I've got a new blog for all of you to check out, a poker hand or two (I'll see what I've got), a preliminary review of Harrington on Cash Games Vol. 1, a "hostage"...

I ended up staying with Full Tilt for the second night in a row. The games have been pretty good and I like getting a little rakeback to help the cause. But good tables do not guarantee a winning night. I put up a good fight (as you'll see after the jump) but ultimately finished down 20 BB over 200 hands.
Before I show you a hand that I think I played well, I thought I'd show you a cooler that took a good chunk of change from me. Presto is Gold? Not for me...

On the advice of a friend, I decided to start making game selection a part of my poker playing routine. Last night I checked out TableRatings.com and found a few juicy tables waiting to dump some chips into my bankroll. Surprisingly, Full Tilt had a bunch of great tables; Stars, Titan, and Party were all sidelined in favour of some easy games.
Did game selection help my results? In theory? Yes. In practice? Not so much. When the best games found were Full Tilt's $0.50/$1 Cap games, I had...

I had a pretty good weekend at the tables. Judging from the amount of poker that I played versus the time I spent with my Xbox 360, I can say that poker is, once again, my hobby of choice. I don't have much time today so I'll just cover as much information as I can with very little filler.
First and foremost, I wanted to give a quick "Congratulations!" to Andrew "Foucault" Brokos (a.k.a. The Poker Philosopher). He finished in 35th place at the 2008 WSOP Main Event! He did an amazing job,...

First and foremost, let me join in the praises being sung by countless poker bloggers and poker afficianados out there by saying, "Way to go Iggy!". It's great to think that one of our own (though I know I'm not in the same league as one such as Iggy) could play in the Main Event on a simple whim and outlast so many other great poker players. It's not that I doubted Iggy's abilities as a poker player: it's just a simple matter of odds.
Another congrats goes out to Foucault a.k.a. The Poker...

When it comes to gambling online, there are generally two games that I'll play: blackjack or poker. Although the former can be fun (when winning) and mindlessly easy, I tend to prefer spending my time doing something a little more challenging. When I'm looking to match wits with strangers across the globe, I turn to online poker.
Poker is fun. Poker is challenging. And poker is insanely profitable if...

Everywhere you turn now, people are talking about Internet gambling. Some are against gambling claiming that it destroys families and encourages crime and sin. And then there are the scores of people who frequent brick and mortar casinos and Online Casinos on a near-daily basis. Like many others, I believe a little gambling in moderation and within one's budget can be a lot of fun. I...

Have you ever walked into a real life casino before? I went to a local casino a few years back. This was around the time that the poker boom was in full swing. I remember walking into the large atrium-like main lobby. After checking my coat, I looked about to see if I could see any poker tables. No luck.
With no poker tables in sight, I glanced about for the blackjack tables. Nope. ...

When it comes to Online Gambling, there are a lot of options available to you. I enjoy playing blackjack. Well, I enjoy grinding out blackjack for a profit whenever possible given clearing requirements and bonuses. But blackjack's not all there is out there. There are online casinos offering a huge variety of games including slots, roulette, keno, blackjack, and let's not forget good old Bingo!

I'm not going to say much today. I managed to find tables at Party and Stars last night. I was a little distracted while playing: I was watching TV with my wife during my session. I was also pretty tired after very little sleep the night before. Luckily, the cards took it easy on me. Very few difficult decisions came my way and I managed to come out ahead whenever I found myself making poor decisions.
I've got three hands below that show you the type of session I had last night.
In this...
