I have been playing around with sngs lately and honestly considered that sngs are the cash game version for tournaments format. You can continue to grind and grind to your heart's content. That is what we people do when we are not able to reach that final table. But some sngs grinder can really churned out awesome money.

1. So how far does the rabbit hole go? My profit and loss across several sites has gone stalemate for nearly 2 weeks now. Damn bloody annoying. Making one profit on one place and losses on another. And then have to slowly claw back up.
   

2. I got tilted much faster too. As i play more games and chasing some points, tilt come following. I wasn't really feeling tilted but that tool says i am which makes me look like a fish in other everyone's eyes. Unbelievable!
   

3. You can get to experience some swings that come and go along with your session. And to take that beating like a man.
   

4. Sometimes the games can get very very boring. I am not joking. It is sooo boring, i can't recall how many times i have to yawn in one single hand. At that time, i can't tell if i'm playing against a group of old men with nothing to do with their time or new players simply don't know which cards to play. Unbelievable!

5. Being a grinder can make you feel as if you're grinding your life away. All you do is grind. The next thing you know, it is already sunshine! Unbelievable!

Coming Tournament : India Poker Tour 2008

Coming soon in the next few months is a poker tournament that may sound like a hybrid of the PokerStars version of APPT. When everyone's focus is on the WSOP, this particular tournament is making its own momentum. Expecting to start off in September 2008, the India Poker Tour (IPT) is set to get 4 champions from 4 main cities in India and in the end one grand champion.

The first city to start this tour is Mumbai followed by Bangalore, Delhi and Goa. If Jason Bourne still plans to retire in Goa after finding out his true identity, it might just provide an added incentive to be there.

Not exactly sure why it has to be India and not say China, Thailand or Taiwan poker tour. But having a big poker event in Asian countries has got to be a complicated matter. India, a country in its own accord, has excel in many feat such as cricket, chess and now poker. Too good to be true?

It's Back To Business!

I am profitable again. There is a twist to it, i'm no longer playing MTT tournaments. The theme now is 'Make More Money Playing Sit And Go'. Since the final table is so unreachable for now, i might as well make more money this way. It is too tiring playing MTT, as if i am getting older. Those evil randomness of cards might be to blame.

I'm not too fond of saying how much i earned. We don't really have a fixed salary you know. It's changing. You might win some today and lose it the next. Most importantly is how much nett gained through the end. As Matt Matros said, it is not how profitable you are in a single poker session but how profitable you are for life! You can find this in his book, 'The Making of A Poker Player'. I was just sniffing through the book. Didn't read it all.

Those last March's games were quite profitable despite the beats. Only thing is, i should be making more! I guess this is how it is, grinding it on.

Living through your bad beat stories makes you mortal, at least human. That at least everyone is susceptible to the evil randomness of cards. It drives me crazy, really. You are sitting in, innocently waiting for your cards but what comes were waves that only know of creating splashes of terror.

It doesn't help if you bluff now cos they really do have the cards. This is bad when playing in tournaments because you can't stop, you are still in the game.

Sleeping Helps

Whenever it happens you will try to get even. A lot of thoughts starts to creep in and the first impression was that the poker room is rigged. Getting those cards over and over again seemed so impossible. It really does or it could simply mean your mind is playing tricks on you. But that cannot be. So the poker room is fixed! You will go crazy thinking about it.

Sleep over it. It will be hard but worthwhile. It will help reduce the strain on your head. Research shows having a good sleep improves concentration. Afterall, we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping you know.

Poker Digest Of The Day

Sometimes you feel like somebody is squeezing your nuts! You are left out bedazzled on what just happened. You thought you are playing the game and had all the stars aligned as best as it can be. It is not.

Had i known i'll be taken to the tightest table there are, i probably wouldn't be buying in. I don't know if you would say it was a tight table, to me it was. The game approaches almost middle-game where the payouts were close. What happened next was a series of take-it-or-leave-it sushi dishes served in front of you on a trolley tray. These array of dishes comes and goes for 4 blind levels.

That middle position player goes all-in and everybody elses folded. Next, another player goes all-in and everybody folded. Everybody takes turn to go all-in me included. The next hand comes and i'm thinking should i call or should i fold? Remember this goes on and on for 4 blind levels pre-flop and flop. Each levels are 12 mins, so you have 48 mins of all-in sushi fest!

You can feel the blood rushing to your head and each passing moment is like getting pounded on the head. Eventually this continues until 30 players are out. Eventually after that, i got knocked out too with 5 spots shy of the money. A breather finally and not a good one.

Getting Contented With Your Connection

At most effort you might get a decent enough internet connection for your poker games. What happens when you are not getting those at critical times of your game. Having a good internet connection is like a lifeline for any of your online poker games.

I was playing in a tournament where the disconnection happened and seeing in front of me holding pocket kings! I needed to bet this one badly or pushed all-in because am getting desperate with my chip stack. I was doing average before until when my pocket kings all-in move in a three way pot got cracked with pocket aces! Was so sure i am going to get rich now. It left me hovering around 1k plus chips.

You can go pissing yourself off seeing your top pair folded. Literally have to close the software and open up again. Playing a few standard games later and several hours into the game, i got my buy-in back with some interest. Nothing much you can do but you can say i was happy to get my money which is better than leaving it in the bank for a miserable small interest.
