I have recently looked up the pagerank for this blog and it was predicted it would have a pagerank of 2. After 3 months i thought the best i could hope for would be (if it's even possible) to just get 1. I thank those who helped me directly or indirectly along the way.
I know there are lots of blogs started out the same way and just faded after sometime. I do not know how far this blog will go but i hope it can continue to go as far as possible. There are plenty of 'how-to' or 'bad beat' blogs that this one just shouldn't be adding to the clutter.
All in all, i am quite satisfied it is where it is. I am still awed how those people generate hits. After all hits equate revenue, comments, readership, opportunities, and many other little things. But does it really matter?
*Somehow after this post was made, my pagerank fell back to 0. :(

Changes have been implemented.
Forewords
Just a few words to say that i have now added technorati tags in the post which would help add a few exposure to the blog and a new email subscription feature on the sidebar. I have changed the commenting system of blogger and converted it to Haloscan system which i think is great. However all previous comments in the blog have now vanished which is alright as this blog is not receiving a lot of comments at the moment. I value your opinions and what you have to say.
A quick look at my subscribers base shows it has increased with my highest number is 11 subscribers. I am looking forward to some of your feedbacks though.
Poker Reading
There are some books on the shelves of local bookstores in Malaysia (i.e; Borders) that i would want to buy. I remember seeing a very thick book from Johny Chan but is not there anymore. I also see books from Sklansky, Phil Gordon, Matt Matros and Ed Miller there also. The price range is from RM80-120. In the meantime i am just relying from online materials such as blogs, forums and poker sites.
Some of the sites i scout around include;
And some other blogging blogs. If you have just started up a poker blog, writing on your games and have something to share about, i would like to link up with you. Leave comments here.

The Fact Is
It always goes out faster than it could ever enter into my bank account. And my paycheck is not going to go up any higher. It has already been 50 years since
The APPT
Seriously, there's only 3 days left to qualify for the APPT Seoul round 2 freeroll. I do not have that much time left to play because i have to work. Damn. I heard Korean girls can drink. My mentor just qualified for round 2 and i am happy for him. I am rolling my fingers into a fist and kneeling down and cried, "Stars, let me go to

I am closing in on maintaining my blog for 3 months now. Since doing so, i have developed an interesting relationship with numbers. I am growing quite fond of blogging and all matters related to blogging. In respect to that i am beginning to realise why blogging can be a full time job. As silly as it is, it is interesting to observe the numbers related to your blog.
The picture above shows the stat for my readers base. It was a surprise and an equally rewarding feeling to see the numbers go up. It rose to its highest on the day i made a post on my winnings. And it dropped down as well the day after. It fluctuates. I am happy that poker postings have a place in its visitors. Actually, wasn't very happy when it declined. Actually it disturbs me. It makes me wonder what would make pokerpostings.blogspot.com better.

This weekend's post will be on 2 things, The Venetian Macao and Poker Fuzzy's 2+2 Anthology.
The Venetian Macao
During my random checking on websites and blogs, i came to the infamous Malaysian blogger kenny at kennysia.com. His blog has such a huge following that it put my puny blog to shame. The reason why this post has something related to his was his recent traveling experience at the newly opened casino at Macau. The name of the casino is 'The Venetian Macao', the casino that will bring Las Vegas to Asia. It was opened not too long ago last month. It is also the same company that will be completing The Marina Bay Sands casino in Singapore in 2009. You can check out some pictures of the casino under construction at wikipedia by entering the keywords 'The Marina Bay Sands'.
Anyway, kenny's inside pictures of 'The Venetian' are so glorifyingly stunning that it stirred up an urge to save some money for a vacation to Macau. His Macau trip was posted on 6th September so it is still new and worth to pay a visit. There is also lucky draw ongoing from the casino itself at the casino main website.
Poker Fuzzy's 2+2 Anthology
Perhaps you haven't check out my blog lately and not having the time to do so. I would want to change your mind on this. At my sidebar i have a link up to an Australian poker player tittled 'Poker vs Fuzzy's Logic'. The reason behind this is that his latest post dated 30th August has a link to his 2+2 anthology which he compiled from the site 2+2. His anthology is very extensive and beneficial to any poker players as it covers almost every aspect.
Everybody knows that 2+2 is a bible if not an encyclopedia for poker players. I am looking forward myself to save some time and follow up on it. So, save or copy it while it is still available.
So, this is all i have for this weekend's post. I hope it is informative to you as it is to me. You can also subscribe to this blog via a google reader by pasting my main url into it. That way, all the posts can be sent to you for your feedings.

My attempt to play at the bigger poker sites was a success. This would be my first time to be in the money at Bodog. I registered into its $500 guaranteed freerolls of over 2400 players. I came in 48th and pocketed $2. Bodog is not part of any network but have its own legions of loyal players. Its poker software is easy to navigate and customisable.

I decided to migrate to bigger and respectable poker sites for reasons;
1) Security
To ensure that all winnings are safe.
2) Players
There will always be players playing and can always join in any games or tournaments at anytime. With many players around, the site will have responsibilities to its players.
3) Package
Bigger sites will always have promotions to the latest worldwide tournaments from its freerolls and satellites.
However, choosing these sites would mean to play with thousands of players. All are eager to take a piece of the cake.

You might not be able to feel the pain when this happens. I was languishing away as my opponent hit his straight with Jack high. I was playing one live SNG last weekend of 11 people. I was around until 3 or 4 people were out. I was then the first to go all-in with KK. The person on my left goes all-in and later another guy, 3 person away goes all-in as well. Everybody else folded. Guess what their cards were;
vs
vs
Everything was fine when the flop and turn came. All were low cards of the number below 10. By that time, i was overjoyed but composed. The anti-climax begins when the river dealt was a Jack. And so, my opponent on my left who have Ace Ten takes the big pot. And my fate was sealed. Bad beats can happen online and offline too as you can see.

..... poker player nor i claimed to be at least above average than others. This blog is not to brag how good i am but rather sharing information because of the interests in poker. It wouldn't be fun at all to write a post or create a blog just to get advertising revenue if there is no interest on the subject.
Leaving me out alone, there are a lot of professional poker players everywhere. And this post is to highlight the amiable poker pro Daniel Negreanu. Being a poker player, there will always be one or two player that you look up to as a role model or trying to compete against. These professional players are being watched and most often, a lot of people will try to imitate their style. Daniel Negreanu is one of the well-like professional players.
If you are a fan of Daniel Negreanu, you will probably know of his poker journal at Full Contact Poker. I previously wrote a short post about the old Full Contact Poker at (Merger of two titans: FullContactPoker and PokerStars). If you are a fan of D.N, you would also have read most of his articles. One particular poker article "Be a sponge" is a good read. It tells on how being observant can help just as much as reading poker books. Watching is a way to absorb knowledge indirectly. It is just as how a kid trying to pick up a new language slowly. This article reminds me how to be a kid again and to continue learning.
There is plenty of role model available with different personalities and characters. Who is your role model ?

I have been wanting to write a post on this and had hold'em for some time. If anyone chances upon an opportunity to make extra money, almost everyone would want to take part in it. The idea to be able to make money online is not something new. A lot of people started blogging with the hope of participating in internet marketing and rake in some cash. There are many people that you can see that are successful. It sounded so simple almost anyone can do it. Afterall, you just need to sign up, create a blog and put some ads.
To put a twist on this matter, i came across an interesting article from which it actually sparked off my intention on writing this post. Ray Dotson from Freshblogger had an article on You Are Not Going To Make Money Online which he had linked up to a video post from 45n5.
In my personal opinion, a lot of people are online these days and are easier to find something they can relate to. Something, which was not that convenient in the past and which we would just used to accept what we can see around us. Also, as easy as it sound like to make money online, it does take effort and need to put in that extra juice.
This is the same in poker as well. As interesting as the story goes about someone in his 20s making it big time in the poker scene, it is not just luck all the way baby! The poker legend Doyle Brunson puts it that, nothing beats experience in poker. And this is just me saying it from something which i got from watching the WPT on JoostTV. If you want to know about JoostTV, you can read my other post at World Poker Tour on JoostTV.

Just before i go all-in with the topic above, i would like to say that this blog is feed-able. So, readers and some visitors here, you can actually subscribe to the feeds by clicking on the RSS button on the right sidebar which says 'Subscribe in a reader'. Or alternatively you can also do so using google reader if you have a google account and paste my main address into the subscription box.
Benefits of doing this will be that it saves you time and the posts send to you in your reader without you coming to the site.
So, as highligted in the header this post will be about tournaments, particularly Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). The APPT is a PokerStars event and the recent APPT Manila, which just ended, is one of the events that is on everyone's mind. Being situated in Asia, having a big scale poker tournament like this is an opportunity waiting to be grabbed. Almost a part of the world has their eyes on it, at least in the Asia continent. And Malaysia is no different than any other countries.
I made a post about PokerStars before at WSOP 2007 and more. I gave up on it after finding it hard to play its freerolls. It takes forever with its blind structure and every player was given 20 or 30 seconds to act. It makes me fell asleep. Arguably, it was made that way because they have lots of players. Unfortunately, it is not worth it. It would be if you deposited money for them and play their cash games. Also their recent 'World Cup of Poker' does not include Malaysia. See their poker tournament page with the country list. Very disappointing. However, PokerStars caught my attention again with its APPT reaching around the corner.
One PokerMalaysia forum member led the example to play the APPT Manila event and got entry into the main event via satellite. Finished 26th, just two spots shy of in the money. The next stop will be the APPT Seoul. Its satellites are still on and this tempted me to play again at PokerStars. The picture of the beaming champion of APPT Manila can be found at PokerStars blog.
My first off day which was a friday night was spent in a home game together with friends of pokermalaysia forum. Being there for the first time was something worth remembering. You can never think that there will be different kinds of people all come together just for one purpose. You see it on TV, you see and read it on the net, and now you play the game face to face.
It was "7" people altogether sitting on one round table. We have a player who brings a special someone along to play also. We were playing it for a few curry puffs which was claimed to be "golden brown in colour, crispy and tasty most of the time". It was fun with nice ambience and everybody laughed at McD's joke and me claimed to have a poker face.
One thing good about playing live is that you get to meet people and eventually discuss some points. You can hear chips sound. Witness chips tricks.
As a part of the world is looking at the APPT Manila, i took some time to read a few Philippine's poker blogs. I came to this interesting poker blog which put up a post of a card club conceptualized by a group of people among themselves. It got interesting pictures. So this will be closure for beats for now.
