I was actually inspired to do a real poker post after getting caught up on the WSOP ESPN episodes. Did some reading, took some notes.... And then the storm came through town yesterday afternoon, shutting down our lovely city. An estimated 800,000 are still without power, including me. I'll probably hang around the office for awhile, being as reading books by candlelight got old fast last
TGIF. Why you shouldn't ever ask for help on the internet.
I've been remiss in congratulating one of the all-time great poker blogs, UpForPoker, on their five year blog anniversary. Damn. Five years. And Otis went and did his part by posting his five most memorable hands against poker bloggers. Per always, superb stuff and not just because I managed to make the list. Five years. I'm shaking my head in amazement.
There's arguably noone more long suffering than us Bengals fans. OK OK, you Lions fans are right there, but it's still just semantics. But at least we have these little distractions.... Chad Ocho Cinco is learning just how powerful the NFL's merchandising contracts are. What's in a name? Money.

No poker this weekend. Hit the links today and spent the day yesterday with the wife and dogs driving around in the boonies to visit ancient Indian burial grounds. Microsoft is apparently getting into the UFC/MMA sponsorship game. You heard it here first.
Wow, I figger I better put something up here in lieu of just twittering it, as is my MO these days. I just read a really interesting article over at Time about the business philosophies of Kip Tindell (ceo/co-founder of The Container Store) and John Mackey (ceo/co-founder of Whole Foods Market). The article was purty good but I really found the transcript of the conversation between Tindell and
Not much to say here unless I wanted to wax poetic about politics, which I'm not going to do on this here humble poker blog. Been there, done that. But I'm compelled to report that I have actually been playing poker semi-regular the last week. I'd purposefully avoided the tables after the WSOP but am now back in the thick of things. More forthcoming on this. But for now I found this job ad I
