Fun Weekend

I had a pretty good weekend. I went out and played some BBall with the boy. I guess I was inspired by Alan's finger. He beat me in both games. I think I won one shooting game. It took me a while to get the feel back so I could actually hit shots. I guess when your muscles atrophy due to lack of use it gets hard to get the ball over the rim. He thought it was hysterical when I put my hand in his face to block his shots. I did not try and swat his shots back into his face because well he is only nine. I did call him on his thousand double dribbles but did not make him give the ball back. I taught him a sweet defense move too. He is dribbling in and getting ready to take the shot when I rock out the loudest fart you have ever heard. He starts laughing so hard I steal the ball away from him and score. Perfect basket ball.

Riverfucker OWNED

I won the RC tonight. Was kinda fun. I did not play well at all. My first great play was crippling Numbette with 72o. I was having a little fun with the hammer. I do believe calling a raise with AT and a flop jam on A2x flop is not going to be profitable in the long run for her.. but she was right this time. The TEN on the turn had me drawing to two outs.. and the TWO on the river.. well it was the Hammer.

My next brilliant move was against AlCantHang. He was short. I had a few chips. Some dude named N000bo who played TERRIBLE raises. I re-raise with TJ spades and Al jams for his last 2k. I had around 6k. So N0000b cold calls Al and so do I. The flop gives me two spades. The turn completes my flush and I jam the rest of my chips in and get called by N000b. That hand puts me up to like 15k and allows me to bully the table and have a good amount of chips on the final table.

The rest of the night was pretty good. Zeem got blinded out since he fell asleep. It was then down to Peacecorn, some Max guy who sucked, and I. The Max guy was nice but he criticized CK's all in jam when she had like 5-6BB and QJo. Pretty good jam just bad timing.

I took him out when he flat called my pre-flop raise of like half his stack with TJ spades, flopped the flush draw vs my TPTK and then stacked off to me on the draw.

Finally it was down to Peacecorn and I. I think she was tired. She finally jammed two big cards against my two which happened to dominated her. We were even stacked and somehow I held up. I am now the current Riverfuckers champion. I did it in true Riverfuckers style with some amazing suckouts and donkeriffic play. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Philosophy vs Reality

I often find myself caught up in the debates of the poker world that deep thinkers get into. For instance if you know for an absolute fact you are 51% ahead of the guy you are playing against and he jams all in for his entire stack do you call? Is there a better spot? Is this "Long Term" a real fucking thing? I mean if you have infinite bankroll and infinite time then yeah sure but in the real world is this enough of an edge for you to make back your loses? The most important question though: does any of this really fucking matter? I mean are these kinda of plays going to be what makes you a winner or loser long term? Should we dig into the bowels of poker and figure out what the right move is over time or just say "Fuck it" and just let the borderline plays slide off our backs. Who the fuck knows.

Unethical

I was talking to a blogger after reading Pertecelli's post. Putting aside all the Donkette controversy and the "interesting" comments in response to his post.. Is it unethical to let your children play poker? Where and when does it become wrong or unethical? I have thought about this a lot with my kids. They are a little younger than I would like for Poker playing so I do not allow them to do so at this time. I do not really see a problem with it though. Except I wince when I say that. Why? I am not really sure. Upbringing. The reputation, some well deserved, of the "game" we play. The dark side of gambling in the form of uncontrolled addiction. What are some of your opinions? I know some of you bloggers let your kids play and I really have no problem with that. The blogger I was chatting with seemed to think the ethical line is at playing for money. Anyone have opinions on this subject?

Stupid Blog

Man you guys are tough. It is really hard for me to entertain you when I AM NOT LOSING. I am sorry and apologize profusely for winning. Last night I booked a small win on Bodog. I was taken out of my SNG in third when I ran my QQ into this awesome players AT. Get yer ass over to that site. Two night of losing 30%'ers for a twenty dollar profit is not bad. I can not wait until my luck evens out and I see what I can really win.

Have you ever thrown a Candy Land game for your kids? I am kind of interested. Ok. Like I told you I AM NOT LOSING. SORRY! I AM REALLY SORRY! I CAN NOT AMUSE YOU! I would say you should send me like $500 and I could play 2/4 NLHE with it but I know it is not as amusing when it is not my own money. Jesus.

Who did you choose for the iceball to the face btw? I know you thought of that one person? Why did you choose them? *peeks around to make sure I am not being watched*. I chose this guy Joe. Fucking wants everything his own way and that way is WRONG. What a fucking retard. Arg! Anyway. Peace out. I will try and lose again for you.

I will be playing the Mookie tonight. Numbono winning that 11 person SNG called the MATH or something like that was the last straw. We have to stop him. Besides I am over being burned out on MTT play so I need to hit some of my favorites like the Mookie and Riverfuckers.

Blah and Meh

Still Blahh with a little Meh mixed in. I got my Bodoggy account funded so decided to try her out last night. I lost the SNG I played in. Actually I think I played really well. I had a small 700 chip lead early. I then called a 3-way all in with top pair nut flush redraw. If I lose the hand I have 700 chips left.. if I win I have a huge lead. I worked my way back up to 2K. I then hurt myself and go down to 1500 on a semi-bluff. Really bad spot to do this. Finally I get all in with my remaining 1200, which was 2/3 the other guys stack, against his powerhouse AT. I had QQ. The flop did not disappoint. All in all it was a VERY easy game and I really easily could have won the whole thing. I think the semi-aggressive tack was good but c-betting and bluffing when the blinds get big against retards is not smart. If I made one less bluff I may have survived the QQ vs AT all in. Who knows.

Other than that I have been playing a bunch of Warcraft and working my ass off. My Mage is level 45 now. I took him raising Tauren Mill last night. In general this is a bad idea because it is a quick flight by bat from the Undercity and some level seventies could fly in and kick my ass. However I escaped without any damage and took out 5 guards, a couple of vendors, and 3-4 other players before getting bored and going to sleep. It is not as much fun when there is no retaliation. It is kind of fun when a lower level character gets too close and you frost bolt his ass into oblivion though.

It is sort of hard to level characters in WOW since they all converge into the same places and you end up doing the same quests over and over. I have been here and done this with my Hunter kind of thing. A Mage is a totally different beast though. He is all about short bursts of huge damage which is fun. He also has multiple ways to escape when the situation turns bad. Works out well for me.

Tonight I have to work again so not sure how much pokering I am going to get in. I do want to try out the cash tables. Supposedly they are pretty sweet.

Bodoggy

I have been a little rough on poker sites lately so I thought I would mention some nice things in a series of posts. I will start off with Bodog.

Of all the sites out there only Full Tilt and Bodog have taken to supporting the poker blogging community in a direct way. Full Tilt ran the BBT3 series and Bodog ran a great tourney with thousands of added Bodog Dollars and a WSOP seat. All I see Pokerstars do for us is some 9000 person freeroll once a year sometimes. Way way way better treatment by Bodog.

The second reason I like the site is kind of counter intuitive. The software is rough. It does not support things like Poker Tracker and has only just started with sizable windows in their new Beta. All of this is bad right? WRONG! You have never been so wrong. This encourages -EV players to swamp the place and that my friends is where you make your profit. Iggy told me this long ago about Titan Poker. He was so fucking right. I quickly ran my bankroll up to 1K-2K from very small amounts. If it was not for the BlackJack tables they had I might have millions there by now. Millions I say. Bodog is exactly the same.

You need more proof? Instant Tragedy wins there. Never have I owned someone as bad as him and yet he can win at this site. Still do not believe me? Blinders has a nice write up on their beginner SNG games. More still? Man you guys are tough. Ok. Smokkee supports himself playing on Bodog in some form or other. He is terrible. He can do it. He needs a lot of money too right? I mean he has a hot blonde babe with big boobies. She has to be expensive right? heh. Little bit of ribbing there. Smokkee and Love Elf are really great people. Still Smokkee started winning much more on Bodog. Overwhelming proof.

Does Bodog have a few things to fix? Yeah sure. Small things. It would be wonderful to be able to transfer money to my loser friends. I think that would help the site out a lot. Anyway I will be playing on Bodog a LOT this month. I will share with you my total domination of the fish and you will be so amazed that you will sign up immediately. Good luck my friends.
