Despite my love of oceans and things nautical, I was never a fan of Atlantic City, New Jersey, the State where I was born and lived for most of my life.
When Atlantic City's first casinos opened I made the obligatory trip there to see what all the fuss was about; and, although I was impressed with the structures, the overall tone of the place turned me off.
I found Las Vegas to be much friendlier, far more varied in its gambling and entertainment offerings and a better bargain overall.
But that was me, most people loved it however, and the casinos flourished, perhaps because of their novelty.
Over time Native American casinos started appearing, and Atlantic City's luster began to tarnish. It became obvious that more than just standard fare gambling and entertainment would be necessary to bring the crowds back.
Some new casinos were erected and existing properties were remodeled but more was needed and now it looks as if a new Atlantic City is starting to emerge.
Here's what's going on with the move to make Atlantic City the new Las Vegas.

In some competitions low is better than high, such as in golf, but there's another game in which players strive to be lowest, and it's gaining in popularity.
That game is "Lowball Poker", and while it is not about to unseat Texas Hold 'Em as the favorite Poker game either in Las Vegas casinos or other bricks and mortar or online casinos, it has a small but dedicated following.
Here's a current article about Lowball Poker, and here are the rules for playing Lowball Poke.
Give a try with your Poker pals and see if it suits you.
Have fun and good luck!

America's Native American Casinos continue expanding and improving the amenities being offered to their clients.
A good example is The Spotlight 29 Casino, in California's Coachella Valley, which is now offering actual Las Vegas style entertainment.
The Spotlight 29 Casino already boasts deluxe accommodations and an impressive night club scene and now they have an additional bragging point with the addition of the "Midnight Dolls".
"The Midnight Dolls", which in my book look good at any time of night or day, are a mainstay in Las Vegas, and along with "The Men of Playgirl", will be performing on the Blue Bar stage, shown above.
