A nice solid day on my day off from work. I played limit for the first time in a while and it was not pretty for the first bit. I was down about 12 BB within a half an hour after having a lot of things miss or get drawn out on. However, the rest of the session went quite well.
Here's the basic stats from PT:
3.98 Hours Played at 14.76 BB/hour and 28.97 BB/100
I'm taking a break now but I'll go through the HH and find some big hands.
As for SnG, I played 5 $2 normal SnGs and won one, placed second in one, and third in two more. The plays a little stronger on the slower tourneys but it's better for me as it doesn't turn into a pushfest by a half hour in.
The rolls now stand at:
Limit BR: $29.79 (up 58.8 BB)
SnG BR: $29.45 (up a little less than 5 buy-ins)
Total: $59.24
My next limit session I'll hopefully hit my first milestone of 50% of the way to .10/.20.

On some advice from ITH about trying to get a better rake structure I played some $2 + $0.25 SnG's tonight on FTP.
The first was a normal format, after handing out this bad beat. I took the tournament down for $9. On the second I played a turbo and went out third when I had my AA cracked by T9o.
I think I may stay at this level, but as always I'm looking for advice. I'm not going to hit the cash games until my day off Wed.
The roll stats:
Limit BR: $23.91 (same)
SnG BR: $28.10 (up 6.48 buy-ins at $1 and up 3.6 buy-ins at $2)
Total: $52.01

Yeah well, not a great night early. I played three $1 + $0.25 SnGs without much success. Out in 6th in one, and then out in 7th in the second.
Here's a hand that kind of summed up my night to that point:

Ah, but blessed third SnG. It started fairly well and this is the hand that put us heads up. The beauty of this one is more than once I had folded after raising from the button when three handed. Probably a little weak on my part, but I thought it might come in handy and it sure did.

So, no poker today. It's my dad's birthday and we went out to dinner after work at a family Italian place. Fettuccine Alfredo was o.k. Family fun was great. Not a bad bottle of wine.
However, the highlight of my day was sitting on the steps when I got home. A sampler that I won on Cigar Bid.
After putting them in my Lock&Stockador is damn full. I'm going to have to buy a cooler in the very near future to make a coolerdor. That or actually start smoking some of this collection. I think I'll have a cigar on the way to work in the morning.

Not a bad start to the quest.

I actually only won one hand, but it was a big one.
It occurs to me that I didn't lay any ground rules that I'll be following. So here they are, in no particular order:
Also, I started a new PT database, as really data from eleven months ago doesn't really help me.
After almost a year off from playing poker regularly I've decided to take my remaining bankroll and see what I can do with it. I needed the time off, but I've missed playing and am ready to get back on the horse.
My Starting Bankroll:
Limit Ring: $23.21
SnG: $13
I've decided to keep my bankrolls separate and when my limit roll get high enough I'll split off a MTT bankroll as well.
Not a bad start to the quest.
